FASTag is an electronic toll collection system that uses RFID technology to deduct toll charges directly from a linked bank account or prepaid wallet as you pass through toll plazas. It is mandatory for all vehicles in India.
Why FASTag is Mandatory
Since February 2021, FASTag is mandatory for all four-wheelers in India. Vehicles without FASTag at toll plazas must pay double the toll amount. FASTag reduces waiting time at tolls and enables cashless toll payment.
